Run for love

The best part about this music video, Run For Love is the anticipation the actors bring in camera. While screening, we made most of the audience laugh which means we did a pretty good job. When Chad, the protagonist, finds his competition, Nick, that's when the mess begins. While they both run and compete against each other, Chad ends up falling and tripping over garbage bags while Nick ends up getting out of breath. I hope to see the audience full with laughter while watching this film.

Run For Love has a pretty basic concept. Its about a two guys who compete for this one girl. Throughout the journey of getting to her they go through many obstacles in the streets of New York. They realize that their competing for the same girl but to beat each other in the race to get her they sabotage each other to get ahead. During the story the two guys keep a strong character to get what they want. it shows that they are willing to do anything for this girl via buy flowers for her, trip over garbage bags and basically having a lot of physical and emotional damage to their bodies. This is a comedy that will keep you laughing and anticipating what is going to happen next.

During the shooting process it was really difficult. We had to keep changing the shooting day due to weather and lack of actors. When we finally did shoot, unfortunately it was the day after the big snow storm so there still was a lot of snow outside and it was really cold. Our actors although the conditions were amazingly nice about shooting in that weather and we were very lucky to have them in our video. One obstacles that we came upon was the people walking in the streets. They would walk right in front of the camera into our shot. The solution we came up with was to start shooting when the walking sign turned to the stop sign then we would shoot because that is when the least amount of people would walk by.

Shooting this music video as the Director of Photography was a learning experience that i very much enjoyed. We made some mistakes and in the near future we can do right by it next time.

Song name

While we were editing our movie he put a song in it called "Are you gunna be my girl?" by the Jets. When we shot on Sunday the sun was out but it was very cold. Me and my group are very thankful that we missed the 2011 snow storm in New York. When we first started looking for our actors for our movie, we wanted Johnny Depp to be one of our actors.

We all felt like he would play a good role as the hot guy in our film. At first we were thinking about putting a Drake song in our film but after we heard the Jets song, Are you gunna be my girl, we chose that song instead because in the song it mentioned the girls black boots and long black hair and that discription fit our actor because that is exactly what she was wearing :)

Garbage Man: Lewis Garcia

Who is the director or photography?

My name is Natasha and being DP in this project helped me get a better image on how the Hollywood set would be. Being DP was a challenge for me because even though it's the director's job to direct actors, I have to help the director direct actors. We had to come up with the shot list on our own and consider the ideas I disagreed with from the writer.

Who is the director?

My name is Ashley and I am the director to the music video, Run For Love. I am a teenager majoring filmmaking in high school and college. I dream to become the next James Cameron. I believe that my  confidence is highly appreciated to the cast and crew because it brings energy on set.

I was a huge help to the people on set because things went great like the shots that I came up with. Run For Love is about two young men competing against each other and time to get the girl they want who is waiting for them patiently at Union Square, 14th Street. When the young men arrive, they end up fighting for her physically and both men end up not getting her because another "hot guy" catches her attention.

Sunday's Shoot

The weather was beautiful, and everyone had so much confidence. When the cast and crew met up at 10:30 am at 14th street Union Square, we all immediately went straight to work. It was cold which was a challenge for us to remain focus. Two of our actors who played, Stacy and "the hot guy" had to go so we had limited time to use them. After we shot everything we needed with them, we went straight to lunch. During lunch, we all explained about what worked and what didn't work. What worked was the relationship everyone had with each other during the shoot and the maturity in front of the actors and most importantly, the maturity we had out in public. What DIDN'T work was the snow. ESPECIALLY when we had a scene on the floor, on top of the snow. During the day, we had more actors come in as extras but what they didn't know was that the battery was dying so we weren't going to shoot further because we didn't have an extra battery so Joshua, the producer had to run down to the nearest camera store to buy a charger. That was a problem because while Joshua and the Camera Assistant, Lewis ran down to the store, time was ticking which means the daylight was going to be gone. We needed daylight for our movie because our movie doesn't take place at night. To wrap it up, Joshua and Lewis came back 45 minutes before night came and we got to shoot up to the end. Thanks to all our actors, you mad a joy to making our film.

On the first day we shot when the two boys were running after the girl to try to get her first. We were a little disappointed with the weather because it was a horrible rainy day.  We might shoot the whole movie over on sunday if we can. The weather is supposed to be alot better so I know that it will work :) We are going to shoot in my friends house in the Bronx for the scene when the girl texts the boy a message saying " Be there in 10 minutes " and leaves to meet up with him in Manhattan.
